Not sure what to say?

I was sent to Castle Heights my senior year due to McGavock High School being built. I hung out with John between classes and listened to music like Al Green and The James Gang. I played the fire extinguisher with a stick in the middle of The James Gang song "Funk 49". I rode with him to Fla. in his Chevy 454 cubic inch awesome muscle car and boarded the ship "Flavia" on a senior trip to the Bahamas. He was a great friend. He has given me many fun memories of CHMA. I'm so sorry to hear of his...

Never met anyone like him. I haven,t seen him since Castle Heights where he gave me the worst hair cut I have ever had. RIP ole friend.

Hated to hear this. Johnny was a fun loving guy with great stories and a kind heart. He was a good co-worker at Springer Equipment. RIP my friend.

We were so sorry to hear about Johnny. He was such a sweet sweet man. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Truly one of the kindest gents I have ever known. Always charming and upbeat. Johnny was a dear friend and a loyal customer in the Floral Industry. I used to ride with him on visits to Birmingham when he would take Taylor to school. Sweet man. I love you Johnny. Bless you Karla and Taylor.

So Sorry to hear about my old friend from high school. Johnny and I played football together at Castle Heights Military Academy. He was one tough cookie. He still lives on in the stories I tell about him to this day! Condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed.

Keeping the family in my thoughts and prayers. I have very fond memories of growing up with Johnny. We all had some good times.
