He was a natural leader with an always calm, down-to-earth demeaner, and he was a highly respected Army officer.

I knew John from our days in the Army with V COSCOM. He was a decent, upstanding and considerate officer and mentor. I stopped by the Atlanta USO in the airport during my travels, but sadly, was unable to meet him. My sincerest condolences to his family.
