Not sure what to say?

Wishing the family peace now that the battle is finally over.

I only knew John during the final years of his life, when my best friend Jason and I stopped by for visits. He would regale us with stories about his youth and his incredible life, and we would listen with a mixture of awe and envy. He had an adventurous spirit, a great sense of humor, and a winning disposition. I will never forget the brief time that I knew him, and I'm sure my best friend - who was closer with him - will not either. I am deeply saddened by the loss of a man I admired, and I...

John was an interesting person . . . I enjoyed his 'different' sense of humor.

Many blessings on a life well lived. I knew John through his long-time companion, Margaret Ettinger, as a participant in the ESCV social events, and as an occasional participant in worship at Lynnwood Reformed Church, where I worked for 6 years.
My interactions with John always involved pleasant and interesting conversation -- I have missed him the past couple of years at ESCV and offer condolences to his family.

I remember all John's wonderful stories. We had a lot of fun times. I still have a picture of John with about fifteen CASTA girls sitting on a bed in Canada on a ski trip. He will be missed. Lil Julian

It was with great sadness that we learned of John's passing. On behalf of the Empire State Capital Volkssporters, I extend our sympathy to John's family and close friends. He lived a long and interesting life.

I will miss John, his sense of humor, his explorations of science and psychology, his joy of life, his tales of life in England and his unusual travel throughout the world. But most of all I will miss is friendship. Hugs to you John wherever you are. Donna

I hope you see the angels again John...l will miss you.My condolences to my dear friend and sister Jennifer & family
