Dr. Howell was both a professor of mine and a valued mentor. As a Political Science major in the early 1960s at East Carolina, I had the pleasure of taking numerous classes and courses from Dr. Howell. The things Dr. Howell taught me were put to wonderful use during a 40 year career in Washington politics.
Dr. Howell and his family remain in my prayers and thoughts. I will miss him greatly.
