Not sure what to say?

Mary -- I was so sorry to hear of the sudden passing of your husband; you may remember I went through the same sadness 3 1/2 years ago - and my Assistance League family was so supportive then. Please know many of us are thinking of you, miss you, and hope to reconnect soon. You have my sympathy.

John and I worked together at Southwestern Life and he was a treasure to work with. I learned a lot from him and truly enjoyed his lively personality. He will certainly be missed. May God bless you and your family during this time.

Mary,
I was very saddened to hear of John's passing. He was a mentor to me and others, a steady hand in tough times, a voice of integrity and common sense. God bless.

Dear Mary,
You and your family are in my thoughts at this time. When I think of your John, I smile. He had this booming voice and he was jolly. Yes, jolly! He will be missed by many. I could not come to his memorial as I had to work.

Mary,
When I received notice yesterday morning of John's untimely passing it was too late to travel from Waco to Dallas to attend the service. I attended Baylor with John and regard him as a valued friend. I can attest to his singing ability as he had the lead in singing "Old Man River" in the Baylor University sing. Sam and Barbara are also friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I worked with John as a business associate for many years and while I do not know the family well I can trully say that John was an outstanding man and an inspiration to all that knew John!

Mary, our deepest sympathies to you and your family. John was a wonderful person who will be missed by many. Lou and I enjoyed being your Sunday School Directors at PCBC for a number of years, and I worked with John at LRB&M and C&L. I used to audit the Methodist Home Foundation, and always thought of John as the perfect product of an instition that must have had many such Alums....but none exactly like John.

When Die Windjammers from Germany visited Dallas in 2006,
John exemplified what is called "Texas Hospitality" by stepping forward and opening his home to several of its members. I will never forget that.

My deepest sympathies to John's family and friends. I had the opportunity to visit with him whenever I was in town for a Men of Note event. He will be missed by all who knew him. May you find comfort in the memories you have created together.
