Gobitis - GCHS around 2009.
Mr. Hurley was a great teacher, and his memory will live in on in the students he taught. As a teacher now myself, I hope to one day be as engaging and loving to my students as he was to us.
I didn't go to Georgetown - he was convinced I would - but I never forgot that he believed I could.
Gobitis, Mr. Hurley. We'll never forget your class.
I am praying for Mr. Hurley and his family.

Mr. Hurley taught me more than any other teacher before or since to question what you see, as things aren't always as they seem. I learned a lot of unusable computer nonsense, mostly that computers are stupid (his words), but the life lessons poured freely from John Hurley, he will be missed.

Mr. Hurley was a wonderful teacher, who instilled his students with a passion to serve and to make the world a better place. He...

Mr. Hurley will forever be a teacher who made a big impact on my life. I had him for a few history classes and he taught me a joy for the subject and learning. I am very sad he has passed on but I know he won't be forgotten. Teachers like him are rare and special.

Thank you John for all the inspiration and dedication you showed to my son Clint who you always referred to as Sammach, and my daughter Chelsea who was Sammach jr. my family owed you a great gratitude because if it wouldn't have been for you inspiration and guidance Clint wouldn't have made it through GCHS. Your humor and and bodily presence will truly be missed but your spirit and devotion will live on in every student you taught. Rest with the angles for your work here is done. With deepest...
