He embodied all that we value in Williams and I always was charged with a special affection and energy whenever we shared time together. He was a wonderful gentleman and I always strived to take something special from every visit with him through the years. I will miss him dearly

A fantastic professor. I was fortunate to be a student of his and he was my senior advisor. I last saw him in 2016 and he shared a number of wonderful stories and was excited to be leading an upcoming Alumni trip to France and the beaches of Normandy. John was one of the faculty who made Williams great.
