John was an honorary member of the Zawatski family. He was a true friend and casino partner to our father, Carl, and an Uncle figure to my sister and I-as well as my children. We enjoyed having him at our table (as long as the food was hot!!) to enjoy the holidays, birthdays, and family reunions. We even had the pleasure of having him with us on several vacations. He will truly be missed and forever loved. May he rest in eternal peace!

Sorry about your dad. He was one in the most honest sharing men I ever met.. It was always such a pleasure to see him and learn from him. You have a lot to be thankful for. May he rest in Peace. God bless you all.

My condolences to the family. Hands down..Best Sunday School teacher ever. Seriously knew more about the Orthodox church than anyone I know and made us laugh, yelled at us and inevitably taught us some bad words in Arabic.

I worked with John at Model Cities during the early 70's. The picture and the obituary, I think, capture John perfectly. He added a lot of life to our office and was well liked by his fellow staff members. What I will remember about John is that he was a good person.
