I worked for John at the Illinois Central Railroad for the two years just before he was appointed Federal Railroad Adminitrator. At that time, was just starting my career in the business of getting freight moved about the country and the knowledge I gain from him served me well.

John will be missed by all of his friends in model railroading. He was a great person and good friend.

I knew John through my mother. He was a wonderful man. He was very kind, smart and LOVED Sushi!
I saw his obituary in the paper and am sorry I didn't know of his death sooner. I would have paid my respects had I known. RIP John and your in my prayers. Hope they have trains, wine and sushi in heaven.
