John Henry Irvin, Jr.

IRVIN, Mr. John Henry Jr.-age 73, of Flint passed away Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Serenity Funeral Chapel G-2340 W. Carpenter Rd. Flint, MI 48505. Apostle Ruby Johnson officiating. The final resting place for Mr. Irvin will be Gracelawn Community Cemetery, Flint, MI. Calling hours are 10:00 am - 6:00 pm Friday, October 17, 2014 with family present from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Serenity Funeral Chapel.

Mr. John H. Irvin, Jr. was born February 18, 1941 to the late Minetta and John H. Irvin, Sr. who preceded him in death. He attended Manassas High School in Memphis, TN. His hobbies included playing golf and pool. In his spare time he also enjoyed bowling and chess. Mr. Irvin leaves to mourn his passing: wife, Betty Jo Irvin; five children, Jonathan, Jay, Veronica, Jeffrey and Jerrold (Elin) Irvin all of Memphis, TN; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel Anderson of Memphis, TN, Lavada Shaw of Flint, MI; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
