John F. Isbell, of Alabaster, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017, at the age of 54. He was a member of Cahaba Heights Baptist Church and a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Isbell. He is survived by his daughters, Olivia Douglas and Emily Isbell (Todd); his grandchildren, Brittany and Trenton Douglas; his father, Herbert Isbell, Sr.; brothers, Herbert Isbell, Jr., Don Isbell, and Paul Isbell. The family will receive friends from 1-2, Monday, May 15, 2017, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover. Service will follow at 2 PM in the chapel, Jason Jarvis officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.

I'm so sorry you have lost Johnny. I hope you can find solace from him being in your lives, even if for such a short time. My sincerest condolences to Uncle Buddy, Cousins Herbert, Don and Paul, his daughters, and grandchildren. Rest in peace, cousin.

I have not spoken with Johnny in many years but I have great memories of our youth together. I understand he has dealt with health problems these last few years. My sympathies and best wishes go out to his family and loved ones for their loss.
