I met John at the Iron Duke . We became instant friends. I just heard of his passing.He always talked about his wife and how much he missed her. Now they'll be together again. I will miss his smiling face.

RIP John, What a great friend you were - We have only now heard the sad news of your passing and send condolences to all your family members. I am smiling, as I write this, thinking of what a kind,generous and fun loving man he was and we will miss him.

I first met John, in my adult life, in Clairemont, San Diego in 1981. He had been a distant uncle but became one of my closest friends.
Along with his beloved Joanne, he looked after me so well, back in the days of the Blarney Stone music and Jack Murphy Stadium.
They were such fun together, you never knew which one would make you laugh first.
They made many life-long friends in San Diego before moving to Springfield where I reunited with them on a freezing Thanksgiving in 1989. The...

I was shocked and so sad to hear of my brother John's sudden death. He was in Dublin recently and attended the funeral of my husband, Noel, who died on the 19th August. He was a huge support to myself and my daughters, Catherine-Anne and Olwen, at a very sad time for our family.
While he was in Dublin, he attended many family gatherings. He spent time with his nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. John also has a niece Mary, in Pittsburgh, who has a son and daughter. We all...
