John L. Jacobs

For the past ten years I have sat in "The Space" with the amazing John Jacobs and had so many wonderful and interesting conversations. We shared the same pagan spiritual beliefs, the same love for the arts, the same love for our local roller derby program, and had seen many of the same old movies. My Dear Friend John So many lives you have touched over your lifetime. I want to express my gratitude for all the enrichments you have brought to my life through my lifetime. Knowing you since since the 1980s and all the conversation and encouragement you gave to me inspired my life journeys. You will be dearly missed by so many. Rest in peace my Friend.

John and I met in a science fiction class at UNI in the late 1970s. Since we were the only two smokers, the professor put us in the back of the class near a window. (Yes, there was a time when smoking was allowed on campus.) Soon we started going out for coffee after class and visiting at his bookstore. We stayed friends from then on. He called me Scooter, and I called him Wolfman. Sometimes we didn´t see each other for years, but when we got back together, it was like no time had passed....
