John C. James

West Point - John C. James, 87, of West Point, passed away in the emergency room of the St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital, on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at 4:54 a.m.

John was born in Chatterton of Warren County, Indiana, on June 23, 1926. He was the son of the late Edward and Nellie (Likens) James. He was raised in the Rainsville community and attended Rainsville School. He later moved to West Point in 1951 and began the James & James Auto Salvage Company. He had been operating the company up until the time he entered the Williamsport Health & Rehabilitation Center 9 months ago.

On March 3, 1949, John married Elizabeth "Liz" Ellen Watkins in Michigan City, IN. She preceded him in death on May 5, 2010.

John leaves behind his two sons, Kenny (Janet) James, West Point, and David (Debbie) James, Attica; a daughter, Judy (Michael) Robertson, Williamsport; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, three brothers, Morris, Jesse and Orville James; two sisters, Nellie Ann and Genevieve and a great-grandson.

Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Friday, August 23rd from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Padgett officiating. Burial will follow in the Rainsville Cemetery, Rainsville, IN.

Very sorry for your loss. Your father's name was said many, many times when I was growing up. I remember thinking "John James" had a cool ring to it!
