Not sure what to say?

My condolences and prayers go out to you. He was a great teacher - though it's been over 35 years since I had Mythology with him, I can see him in his Norse warrior garb like it was yesterday. The horned helmet, a makeshift animal-skin outfit, and a sword. Quite memorable. Outrageously funny, over-the-top. A life well-lived, to be sure.

"To teach is to touch a life forever." Mr. Jankowich touched many lives and will be fondly remembered by many of his students. I am grateful that he was my teacher.

The mark of a great teacher is that his/her students remember things that were taught. I remember so much from his classes, and how he cracked so many jokes in class. This is how he made us remember - by making it fun to learn. He was most certainly never boring. He was truly a great teacher and mentor.

Ed, Sharon ,and family I was so sorry to hear about Mr. Jankowich. He was a fine teacher and person. I really liked him. He made class fun.

I took mythology in high school and enjoyed the class very much. I have forgotten the mythology I learned, but one story Mr. Jankowich told has stuck with me my entire life. I can't remember how it came up but he retold how his mother would treat the hobos who showed up in his back yard with kindness. When he asked his mother why, she told him "There but for the grace of God go I." That was the first time I had ever heard that phrase and it stuck with me. He inspired me to be a better...

One of sweetest memories of my high school days. Great guy! Not surprised with all that he accomplished in his life. I'm sure he will be missed.

I remember John as a mentor when I was in the Boy Scouts back in the 60's at Memorial Reformed Church in Wilson Boro. He was always there to lend a helping hand. I'm sincerely sorry to hear of his passing. My prayers go out to the Jankowich Family.

Sorry for your loss, John was a great teacher, John loved everyone of his students. John will be missed.

So sorry for your loss. He was my favorite teacher. I also maked him one of his mythology costumes.
