Mike epitomized what a great citizen to any community does . He showed us all how to be positive, respectful and strategic in so many worthy pursuits in a wide array of business , civic and charitable causes . His values never wavered and his kindness towards all was unfailing . When I met Mike in 1989 we were friends in minutes and that blessing continued through the years . My thoughts and prayers to Kent and family .

Although I haven't seen Mike in may years, that didn't mean from time to time when I would read and article or see his name pop up in some business communication that I wouldn't immediately smile and think back to my youth. I grew up on Thomas Ave just down from Huntingdon College, and Mike and his family were around the corner neighbors for many years. Our old gang of kids used to play touch football, and a little baseball in the Jordan/Jenkins front yard and do all the things that young kids did back then. I thought Mike was one of the coolest guys going. and remember him very fondly. After service I returned to Montgomery and worked directly under Mike's step father Bill Jordan for a number of years at First Alabama/Real Estate Financing Inc.. I would see Mike from time to time, and you could always tell, this was a guy that had his act together, but was really just a genuinely fine man and good human being. I know his family will miss that charming smile and the sweet presence he brought to a room. The City of Montgomery will miss a fine citizen and leader. I am proud to have known Mike Jenkins.

Mike Jenkins was one of the kindest men I have ever met. I was blessed to be a part of the Brick Industry Association Board of Directors where he served for many years. He was always an encourager and mentor to me and always made time for others. Our industry was much better because of his servant leadership.
