johnson family, so sorry to hear of j j passing away. he was a great guy and an even greater co-worker. we had a lot of laughs and good card games on the old lobster shift. he was also an excellent printer and a great union mana real gentleman. fraternally, ace norton, herbie coye. kevin mulcahy. eddie henderson, fellow lobster shift crew.

My brother appeared to many as a strong man with great golfing skills, hitting a 300 yard drive with ease. I remember him as a mischievous little boy and a sentimental adult. He rembered my birthdays with loving verses on cards, slected, I know, with great care. When I was sick in the hospital, he telephoned and sang to me. To you and entire Johnson Family, please accept my heartfelt condolences at the passing of your Dad, JJ. I know he was a great guy, a model father, and wonderful husband. As a newspaper proof reader, no doubt JJ had an eye for detail; not to overlook a great sense of humor that I'm sure added more color to all those black and white galleys he saw over so many years at the Globe and Herald.
