John Richard Johnson

John was a friend and mentor during my first years of teaching at West. I enjoyed working with and learning from him. I appreciated his sense of humor, his encouragement, our discussions, and I missed him when he decided to retire. It was a joy the few times I ran into him in later years. His family will be in my prayers!

I often wondered how John was doing. It had been several years since I had contact with him. I miss all the golf outings and chess games we had. Especially playing using the overheads in our quadplex at West Junior High. My thoughts and prayers go out to you as you mourn the loss of husband, father, grand-father, and great grand-father.

He was the best teacher. He was willing to help you if you needed extra help to understand.
