Not sure what to say?

Darn it! I sincerely thought John would live forever. I was just trying to get back into contact with him. What a great guy. That picture is great! I wish I had known him outside of Alaska, but he was pretty great even up there in a tough work environment. If it weren't for John, I wouldn't be married to my lovely wife and have my two great kids and our college degrees. You helped out a lot of people John. You will be missed.

Sincerely,

Jason Gilder

Wanted for a long time to give my condolences to the family, but didn't have the words to say., except that you are all in my prayers and to say that I personally feel blessed to have known the man. he will be missed.

I worked up in Alitak for many years under Mr. Jorgensen, JJ as we called him. He was a great man with a big heart. He helped me and my family after my brother was lost at sea. It was a great pleasure to have known him. Many prayers to the Jorgensen family.

Sincerely,
Jonathan Kasuboski

I have many fond memories of beautiful Alaska, and none of these memories would be possible without John Jorgensen. On behalf of all the Wisconsinites that J.J. hired throughout the years, thank you and may God bless you!

John Jorgensen had a special place in our family. My father, Bill Simpanen, worked with him for many years at Port Bailey, AK. My mother, Gladys and also my sister, Karen...I just visited one year. He would talk about John and John sending him his 'fish box'. after every season. He was always so generous with our family and my dad enjoyed working with him very much. Dad was the Baker there, sometimes the cook. This gesture he made every year was that 'bonus' and brought such delight to...

Port Bailey at Midnight

My heart felt thanks to a man who changed my life, gave me the best summer job possible for a college student in Alaska, invited me to live in his Ballard home, made me feel like part of his family, allowed me to teach his sons Glenn and Lance how to ski, and opened up more adventures to me than I could possibly list with the Boston Whaler he allowed me to buy.
Ellie, Glenn, & Lance, it was great to see you yesterday at John's memorial. All of you will forever be a part of my life. Thank...

We will remember the great hospitality cousin John showed us in 2007 when we visited him and our relatives in Seattle.
Stayed in John`s house,he took us around in Seattle for a week and not to forget all the good food he came up with.
He was one of a kind.

He will be missed by all of us.

Rest in peace.

Rest in peace John all my condolences to Glenn and all your family. John helped me start my career , truly a fine friend. Sincerely José Aguilar and family.

I'll never forget the time john had to wake my up and made me work in the hold cleaning out the tanks of the Ocean Maid or some other boat in Port Bailey after I drank a whole pint of Seagram's by myself for my first hangover ever! I was always amused at the Johns accent and how he talked! He was a good family friend and he will be missed!
