When reading about your mom, I saw that your dad also passed this year. Oh, two lovely people. My dad did not have many friends but always considered your father his best friend. I lost my mom almost 8- years ago and my dad 3. Perhaps the 4 of them are together having a reunion.

John was a true gentleman and real professional in his field. He will be dearly missed and was i believe one of the last Croton-Boys.I will always hold his memory in the highest honor. Well John,now your selling at that big auction in the sky,where there are No no-sale lots and every item gets sold to the highest bidder for top dollar..Rest in Peace...

Though you do not know me, I have fond memories of John Kachmar as an auctioneer. When I was a little girl, my mother introduced me to auctions and I really got hooked. When I grew up and started going to John Kachmar's auctions. I would tap my foot as he would conduct the bidding wars. I would sit there through all kinds of weather and temperatures to hear him auction off household items and always wondered how he could talk so fast!
