JOHN WILLIAM KARPINSKI

It is with profound sorrow that I learned of the passing of John Karpinski last night. John and I became best friends when I was assigned to the JAG Office of the 32nd Army Air Defense Command in Kaiserslautern, Germany in 1968. In his spare time John led a Boy Scout troop for the sons of officers and enlisted men. He talked me into being his assistant. John was very clever and creative. He discovered a little known Army regulation that permitted him to take his Scout troop to Summer...
