Not sure what to say?

I want to offer my condolences to the Karr family. The world has lost a great man but I know he lives on in the wonderful things his children and grandchildren go on to do. I know first hand the wonders they can do. My father worked with Mrs. Karr and their daughter Stephanie was my speech therapist for several years. I can't convey the respect and admiration I have for this family. I have not spoken to the Karrs in many years but would love to hear from them, especially Stephanie. May...

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Karr years ago at a political function. I was impressed by both his intellect and wit, but also his diligent work preserving his beloved Sunset Heights and his genuine desire to assist those less fortunate.

Gentlemen like Mr. Karr are far and few between. El Paso will miss Mr. Karr more than we may ever know.

My condolences to Joyce and the rest of the Karr family. John was always a joy to go to lunch with. We could always find a subject to discuss. He will be missed by this community. Joe Gomez

I was so sad to hear that John ("Mr. Karr") has passed on. He was my surogate father, my mentor, my boss and my friend. He was there for me when my parents died and when my three children were born and all of life's inbetweens. We will never forget you. Our deepest sympathy to Joyce, all his children and their family.

John and I met while I was a student at El Paso High School in 1965 and I lived across the street from him after high school. John Karr was a calm strong person who stood by me during a rough period in my life. I will never forget him.

John was a rationally exuberant liberal.
We were honored to have known him.
Love,

A valued family friend is now missed.

John Karr:

A rare breed of a gentleman, who served his country in many admirable and responsible ways.

John was a sincere advocate for social fairness, human rights and responsible government and carried out those convictions on a daily basis.

Our family thought we would never meet a person more liberal than our father, Ernest Vass, but we were wrong. John was that person much to the delight of our father. Thank you for many hours of political debates with Dad, John! You will be greatly missed by the Vass family, but mostly by you lovely wife and family. You made life interesting and exciting for those who were associated with you in any capacity: work, politics, religion, social occassions, etc. Mother sends her regards to...

Mr. Karr,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army Air Forces as a P-47 Thunderbolt fighter pilot. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
