Not sure what to say?

Dear Kavanaugh children, I remember your dad and your sweet mother even better from when I used to take Irish dancing lessons in your basement. I was in between John and Pat in age and knew them from LF. I also remember Jean and Margaret from the Irish dancing classes. Sorry about losing both your parents; it sure is hard when they were such decent people. By the way, Pat and John, I'm going to the LF high school reunion in September. It would be really neat to see you both again. Sincerely,...

I first met John almost 25 years ago at a time when I was new to Chicago and was having trouble making friends. In less than 15 minutes John was able to help me see things in a different light. From that day forward I loved and respected this wonderful man. He was an inspiration to me an to so many others who were fortunate to be his friend.

Our deepest condolences to the family. I have many fond memories of Uncle John at family picnics and parties. All us kids enjoyed his humor and wit. Our thoughts are with you.

Our thoughts are with you

John,

Plato, Aristotle, Augustine and Aquinas have to be delighted to have you with them. Now they will be able to get down to some serious discussions with a guy who could teach them a thing or two!

All of us who knew you were privileged to have known you and to have shared your wisdom. You will be truly missed. I feel (at least) doubly, and in some ways uniquely, blessed to have known you both from Chicago and from Naperville. You have made an indelible imprint...

So sorry to hear about Uncle John. Wish we could be there with you. Will keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers

Offering our deepest condolences during this difficult time.
