Not sure what to say?

Dear Jack. I still think of you often. Every Tuesday and Sunday night we shared the basketball court with some of Point Lookouts best athletes during the early 70's. Harry Chapin included. You took me under your wing and were the one person, most responsible for grooming my talents. You even cared enough to give me a pair of "Converse All Star" sneakers from your school. A deep thinker with a competitive spirit and an extremely self confident, biting sense of humor. Right and left banked hook...

It´s taken me a minute to post here. My former classmates have here beautifully expressed Mr Keating´s impact on his students similar to my own experience. I would like to take a walk down memory lane to the classroom where it began. Mr. Keating (Jack in later years) was not my teacher, yet he welcomed this twelve year old and even began her "reading life." While later in life I was comfortable calling him Jack, he will always be "Mr. Keating" to me. Jack was my high school English teacher. More important, however, was his profound influence as a life coach when I was a struggling teenager. He always had time for his students if they were just interested in seeking his counsel. His life and work are proof that the profession of teaching can have a significant impact on the lives of young people. He was a solid source of strength,...

Mr. Keating was one of my favorite teachers. He made learning fun. A person who I will always remember. May he rest in peace.

Sending my deepest sympathies to the Keating family. He was one of my favorite teachers at Deer Park High School. RIP Mr. Keating.

Remember Jack very well from our basketball days during the summer months around Nassau County. Jack also coached my son @ Holy Family in Huntington early 80s. A nice guy w/ plenty of friends - he will be sorely missed.

Our love and condolences to all. We fondly remember dear cousin Jackie with love. Eleanor, Helen, Dan, Bob, and family
