CLOSED-Harvey Family Funeral Home Obituary

John M. Kelly was born in Seattle on October 1, 1950.  He was baptized at Christ the King Church and received Holy Communion and Confirmation at St. Alphonsus Church.

He attended St. Alphonsus Grade School where he was an altar boy and always played baseball.  He graduated from Ballard High School in 1968.

John and his friend Frank Ballard opened Omni Packing and Seal Company in 1980.  After Frank’s passing, John continued to pursue their plan of becoming a major producer and supplier of industrial packing materials, which was accomplished.

John had many passions – his family, his friends, baseball, cars, motorcycles and being an uncle.  He wanted to be the ‘fun’ uncle and he was immensely successful at that.

John is survived by his mother, Mrs. Edward F. Kelly, his brothers Pat (Marlean), Brian (Pam) his nephews, Brendan, Paddy, Quinn, Ryan and Colin and his niece Katie.  He was preceded in death by his father Edward and his grandparents, Patrick J. and Alice Kelly and John M. and Anne Reddy.

He also leaves behind many aunts and uncles and cousins to whom he was very close.  He leaves behind countless friends who were very much a part of his life.

John survived skiing accidents, snowmobiling accidents, motorcycle accidents and car wrecks.  But he passed away surrounded by family and friends; we think that’s the way he would have liked it.

Not sure what to say?

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

John was a great human being. Full of love and laughter. You could not help but be happy and have a great time around him. What a shock. He was such a vibrant person. Will be very, very missed.

John, you will be missed. We had a lot of fun over the many years, playing softball, going to Mariner games, bowling... Rest in peace.

John was a fine man and a good friend. Everyone liked John

Never a dull moment with John. Great laughs, generosity and friendship. I can't think of the Mariners or King Dome with out John coming to mind! You are missed.

John was very dear to our family and will be missed greatly.

John was a great guy. We enjoyed many good times, either at the bowling alley, mariners games or Dino's watching the football games. We will all miss him.

John was a great guy and he will be very much missed.
