John “Jack” Kern Sr., age 77, of Walbridge, OH passed away on Monday evening, June 20, 2005, at his residence. He was born in Sylvania, OH, on June 25, 1927 to Arthur and Thelma (Maynard) Kern. Jack married Donna Mae Lippert on October 5, 1951 in Angola, IN and she survives. He was a glass cutter for Libbey Owens Ford Rossford Plant for 30 years retiring in 1982. Jack was a WW2 Merchant Marine Veteran and a member of Love Cathedral in Toledo, OH. In his spare time he enjoyed water skiing, fishing and working on his tractors.

Surviving Jack are his Wife: Donna, Son: John (Cindy) Kern Jr. of Luckey, OH, Daughters: Barbara Owen of Walbridge, OH, Sally (Richard) Berglund of Curtice, OH and Grandchildren: Clint, Donny, Blake, Jacob and Sarah. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Brothers: Charles and Daniel Kern.

Visitation will be held on Thursday June 23, 2005 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Marsh Funeral Home, 110 West Main Street, Luckey, OH where funeral services will be held on Friday June 24, 2005 at 10:30 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Michael Lord Jr. Interment will be in Fort Meigs Cemetery, Perrysburg, OH. Those giving a memorial contribution may wish to consider Love Cathedral Toledo, OH, or a Charity of the Donor’s Choice. On-line condolences may be sent to the family at www.marshfuneralhomes.com.
