Although I didn't work with Dr. Kessler when I was at the Physics Department, I enjoyed seeing his microorganisms in his laboratory and hearing his explanations about them. I also enjoyed hiking and occasionally meeting him on a trail. My wife and I were sad to hear of his passing.
