John Joseph Kieran III

John Joseph Kieran III, 60, passed away March 24, 2021 at his Metairie home surrounded by family and friends who loved him dearly. Johnny was born in New Orleans on December 14, 1960. He graduated from East Jefferson High School and first entered the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers with his grandfather. Johnny had a career in mechanics and body work for 35 years. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix, figure out, or make more beautiful. He loved being with people and helping others. Johnny married Mary Marie Lutz Kieran on February 12, 2016 during an intimate ceremony at their residence. Theirs was a special love. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary, his parents John Joseph Kieran, Jr., and Joan Claire Morel Kieran, his children, Dyonn Kieran Dahlke (Kiel), and Danae Kieran Leclere (Mike, whom he considered a son), 5 grandchildren, four step-children and siblings Kenneth Michael Flynn (Brenda), David Michael Kieran, Kelley Claire Kieran Savoie (Fred). He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Joseph Kieran, Sr., and Ernestine Teoulet Kieran, Lenix P. Morel and Audrey Claire Morel (Durel), and his son, John Joseph Kieran, IV, whom he loved beyond words. A Memorial Service for Johnny will be held on April 17, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Kenner, 1400 Williams Blvd., Kenner, where Johnny was baptized and came to know The Lord, Our Savior, Our Healer and Redeemer. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00 am.
