Coach Kons was my position coach at The College of William and Mary. He always treated me, and all of his players with the utmost of respect. Years later as the football coach at Assumption High School in Davenport, Iowa, Coach Kons spoke at a football clinic that I hosted. I, also, visited with him when he coached at Arkansas. Little did I know we would meet again, as when I was a member of the football staff at Kent State University, John was the associate AD; before he left to take...

When Lou Holtz was named to receive the Medal of Freedom, I recalled John had joined him at William and Mary around the time I was reporting Temple football for The Philadelphia Bulletin. I am not sure completely, but I likely met John when he was an assistant coach for the Philadelphia Bulldogs under Wayne Hardin. I do remember him working for George Makris at Temple. I, being Eastern Orthodox, and John, presumably being Greek Orthodox, clicked over our heritage and we worked together well...

Dear Sandra,
It seems impossible that it's been 7 years since John died -- such a good man who continues to be missed by many -- and especially you and your kids. I hope this finds you well and able to enjoy your grandchildren. It'd be great to see you sometime and catch up -- maybe over a cup of coffee.
Love, Ansel

I met John, through my development of my free website for the Continental Football League, www.boosterclubcfl.com, and had the opportunity to meet Mr. Konstantinos and his wonderful family when the Bulldogs had their last reunion in Canton, Ohio at the PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME. He was a driving force behind the reunion of this great franchise, and was well loved by his former team mates. I am honored to have met him and his family. GOD BLESS YOU JOHN AND YOUR WONDERFUL FAMILY.

I had the good fortune to meet Coach Kons as a teenager at Eastern Illinois University in the mid-seventies. I respected him then, but thirty-five years later I've grown to appreciate his positive influence even more.
