John and I want to Whitmer together as we both were in the band and played saxophone. He always had a smile on his face and was quick with his wit. We had many good times and unfortunately I only saw him once or twice since graduation as I too ventured off into the Air Force for a 23 year career around the world with the Air Force Band, taking me away from the Toledo area never to return, with the exception of a few family visits and class reunions.
