My grandpa loved music. More than I have ever seen anyone enjoy it. I take that back, my mother (daughter of John) gets the same joy in her eyes when a good tune is turned on. My mom and I in he kitchen and my grandpa, struggling to keep his eyes open, closes his eyes and listens to the blaring music coming out of the speaker just in front of him. Tears of pure joy and bliss fill his eyes as I realize this is the first time I have ever seen my grandpa truly alive. Myself only being 13 years...

Sorry to hear of Johns passing, we went to Strong Vincent together and shared some good times. I was just looking at his picture in the Spokesman 67 year book. He was a crazy guy, and had fun at Sandias Icecream bar. Rest In Peace . Jim Garvin

John and I were childhood neighbors and had a blast growing up together. We built motor bikes with old lawn mower engines, played baseball by the school and broke a window in the firehouse. We had paper routes together and ran a cable across the street so we could keep in touch at night on our secret communications devices.
