I met John in 1985 during my Management Internship. His encyclopedic knowledge of the company made for MANY humorous and historically relevant tales!! Truly an original!!

John had been like a father to me from the first day we met some 30 years ago. What people know of me when they look at or talk to me is what John created. I couldn't be happier he came into my life, prouder to call me my friend or sadder to see him go. Gracias por todo my friend, I'll never forget you.

John will always be the person I remember when I think of my years in the early 80's spent in Engineering and working on all those specs of the new railroad crossings. You were always so much fun to work with. I have thought of you often over the years and will continue to remember all the fun times we had.

John, we will miss you. You were an inspiration and a model for all of us "youngsters" in the C&S world. Your extraordinary knowledge, sense of humor and willingness to help anyone who asked will be dearly missed. My only regret is that I did not have the privilege of knowing you longer. God Speed.
