John William Landis

I only met Mr Landis one time when I visited with his daughter Maureen who I was friends with. He was courteous, gracious, and welcoming to a complete stranger. I was saddened to learn of his passing. He was an amazing man.

Mr. Landis was a brilliant and caring person. He made the world a better place and I was so blessed to have known him. He was a father figure to me and I will always miss his beautiful smile.

As the current Chair of the American Nuclear Society Nuclear Engineering Education for the Disadvantaged (NEED) Committee, I am so proud to carry on John Landis' legacy in awarding the John & Muriel Landis Scholarships. He has inspired so many students and so many ANS members with his generosity. I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Landis, but I will certainly never forget him!

My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

John was always a source of sound advice. I turned to him often when I needed it. He never let me down. We all will miss him.

As a current senior at Lafayette College, my four years here have been shaped by my experiences with the Landis Community Outreach Center. Mr. Landis's legacy has given me and countless other students a path to become active citizens within our Lafayette, Easton, and global communities. My thoughts are with his friends and family.

As a professional staff member of the Landis Community Outreach Center, I am eternally grateful to Mr. Landis and the Landis family for their generous contributions to Lafayette and the support of our work in Easton and Phillipsburg. Working with the students and community members through the Landis Center is truly a pleasure, and it wouldn't be possible without this support. Mr. Landis's inspiring legacy will live on through the amazing work of the Landis students.

Though I did not have the pleasure of meeting you, I have been a part of some of the programs you helped provide at Lafayette College since my freshman year. Honestly, I can say that my work with the Landis center has been the best part of my college experience and has made an impact on my life that is to great for words. Thank you, you are gone but not forgotten and will forever be missed.

John Landis was a truly great man! He had so many interests and went out of his way to help so many people and causes. He played important roles in the US fusion energy program as an executive and advisor. He recieved Fusion Power Associates Distinguished Career Award in 1991. I have been blessed to be a benefactor of Mr. Landis' generous donations to the Landis Community Outreach Center for four years now. I cannot imagine my Lafayette experience without the Landis Center which has become one of the most important aspects of my college career. I am eternally grateful to Mr. Landis for providing me with this experience. My thoughts are with his friends and family. His legacy will most definitely live on.
