Not sure what to say?

In 2008 I had the honor of meeting Fr. Lanese while attending St. Bernard´s Church in Cohoes, NY. He was administrator as the church was closing. He made the parishioners feel very comforted and brought wisdom, humility and much humor in his sermons. I got to know him as I was very involved in the church teaching faith formation, cleaning and delivering Eucharist to seniors weekly. We fondly referred to him as "The Closer" as he was sent to us to ease the pain of our church closing. Years...

Remembering my dear friend and fellow laborer in God´s Vineyard Father John. Missing him, especially today 11/16/25 on what would have been his Birthday. Rest in peace my brother in Christ!

Sorry to hear of John's passing, I was going to call him today on his 79th birthday. I grew up with John on Hollywood Ave, he was like a brother to me and a part of our family. Before becoming a priest, he was Godfather to our son Michael. He is free of pain now and at peace. Your forever friends, Sue & Mike

Sending prayers to the family.

Fr. John Lanese, you were like a brother to me and my friend. You married us in my first marriage and we thought the world of you. God bless "Chief Hole in Head". Joe Koreman

Fr. Lanese married us and baptized both of our daughters. We loved him and he will be forever in our hearts. God bless

Father Lanese was quite a character! We liked him so much. He married us in 2006 and made the service very special. God Bless Father Lanese!

I´m so sorry to hear of the John´s passing. I got to know John when he was at St John´s St Ann´s in the the South End. If there is a Mass I would like to attend. Angela Robilotto
