John B. Lanouette, 81, of South Berwick, Maine, a U.S. Navy veteran who served from 1940-61, a rigger at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard before his retirement in 1974, died at his home on Saturday, May 4, 2002, following a short illness. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Friday, May 10, 2002, 10 a.m., at St. Michael's Church, officiated by the Rev. H.J. Cameron. No calling hours are scheduled. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to South Berwick Emergency Squad, P.O. Box 157, South Berwick, ME 03908. Arrangements entrusted to McIntire-McCooey Funeral Home, South Berwick, Maine.

Grandpa,
you were always my favorite!!! i miss you already and it is not even a month yet. My prayers are with you and i hope that you will become my guardian angel. I know now that it was time that god took you away but i didn't want you to go!!! i love grandpa and will always be in my heart!!!!

My sympathy is with you for your lost. Uncle John left so many fond memories and we will keep them all. May he rest in peace.

Natalie and I are so sorry to hear of uncle John's passing. I will always remember his smole and sense of humor. He is one of the reasons that I chose the Navy as a career. Our prayers are with you.

Dear Aunt Anita and Family-
We are so sorry for your loss. We will always remember Uncle Johns' smile and his ability to make you laugh. God Bless in your time of sorrow.

At the family reunions, John was the life of the party. We will always remember his happy spirit and heavenly smile. We are sending our warmest thoughts to Anita and the entire family.

It was with great sadness that I heard of Johnny's passing. I hoped to see him this July when I came East. My sympathies to Anita and the family. My brother could always make me smile.
