Not sure what to say?

I was a shy nothing slouching his way through school. Your class was an oasis where I flourished. You took my pieces into the faculty room and showed other teachers, who reached out to me. We were able to be social and fully human in your class. I wanted to be an artist. I grew into a confident and accomplished human, but not an artist. We need the arts. We need the LaPierres to help us develop as humans. Thank you for taking me under your wing.

Mr. Lapierre, I have never and will never forget you. You were the kindest, sweetest teacher any kid could wish for. I attended Pacific Grove HS and you were my art teacher. I learned so much from you. There is always one great teacher that burns into a kids memory and for me it was you. I have never forgotten you and for a kid who was painfully shy you were a light of joy. You always made me feel as good as anyone else and worth something. You were an inspiration to my life and art. You will be truly missed. Condolences and Prayers to your Family and Friends.

Mr LaPierre was my art teacher for 3 years and he never accepted anything less than excellence from his students that was over 50 years ago.

John was my mother's first cousin. My mother was Violet Chapdelaine Synnott and her mother, Florida LaPierre Chapdelaine was John's aunt. We all grew up in Fall River, Ma where there were dozens of cousins. My mother died last year at 97 yrs old and was the godmother to John's sister, Sr. Mary Laurita ( Sr. Jean) who was also my 7th grade teacher. I remember Uncle Johnny and Teddy from my days in Fall River. My condolences to the family. ([email protected])
