John James LATIMORE

LATIMORE, John James 63, passed away on October 28, 2016. He is preceded in death by his father, Col. Henry James Latimore, Jr.; his mother, Edna Frisch Latimore and his brother, Robert Behal. He is survived by his daughter, Kelly of Tucson; sister, Jami Morris of Houston, and stepmother, Patricia of Tucson. After beginning life in Riverside, CA, John moved extensively with his Air Force family until they settled in Tucson. Shortly after, he joined the Air Force where he was trained as a computer technician. This was the beginning of a lifelong enthusiasm and thirst for always learning more about technology. After the service, he attended the University of Arizona where he earned his Bachelors in Business. After graduating, he took a job with IBM, where he spent a successful 34-year career in Tucson. He started out in hardware repair, then technical marketing, and lastly storage system product management. John was a man of many talents and interests. Never one to be idle, he spent his free time improving his skills and knowledge in any number of pursuits including golf, woodworking, coin collecting, photography, movies, sports, technology, politics, and current events. John was a loving son and a devoted father. Tuesday dinners with Kelly were special moments that he cherished from elementary school through her college years. He loved spending time with friends and family cheering on his favorite teams, the St. Louis Cardinals, the Oakland Raiders, and all sports involving his UA Wildcats. John greatly appreciated and we are forever grateful for the compassionate care of his caregiver JR in the last months of his life. A Celebration of John's life has been planned for Sunday, December 11, 2016, 2:30 p.m. -4:30 p.m. at Trident II Grill, 2960 N. Swan.
