Dear Bruce & Family:
It was with sadness that we read of John’s death in the New York Times. We were visiting a friend who is a subscriber of the NY Times. We met John and his family on a tip to South-east Asia more than fifteen years ago. We immediately bonded. The night prior to docking in Hong Kong John gave us his alarm clock and said that he would meet us on a specific deck and a specified time. It was obvious even as a child, that John was a very gifted artist.

I hold such fond memories of our childhood, with little freckle-faced Johnny always smiling and up for making mischief. What fun we all had.

He will be long remembered and sorely missed.
