My heartfelt condolences to the Lavin family. Ah, the memories! Jack was a true newspaperman in the days when Chicago was a genuinely competitive newspaper town, and it was personally fulfilling and a lot of fun to be just that -- a true newspaperman.

Mark, Ann and family

Jack will always be the great friend, outstanding professional and humorus lunch partner. It was a pleasure to have nominated him for the Chicago Journalism Hall of Fame. To Pat and the family he was so very proud of-- my thoughts, prayers and feelings are with you.

Hey Mark, I hear the fishin's good up there.

I feel honored to have met Jack and spent many holidays with all of you and knowing how you made me feel right at home with all of you...even though I was only a neighbor, I am so sorry for your loss and know that my prayers are with you all during this time. Love, Joe

So long pal:
We worked together at City News and "played" together at various reporters associations. Will miss you. My condolences to your family.

Mark, Ann, Dan, Bridget & Casey,
On my way back from lunch today I heard the song by MercyMe that sings: "I can only imagine what it will be like, when I walk by Your side..." Your Dad (Bapa) now knows the glory that awaits all of us in heaven. Wish I could be there...but my prayers and thoughts are with you.
Love,
Julie
