John J. "Jack" Leahy, age 85, USAF Staff Sergeant, Korean War Veteran, late of Grant Park, formerly of Dolton. Beloved husband and best friend of 50 years to the late Phyllis A. (neé Granich); devoted father of Patti Jo, John Jr., Kevin (Erika), Colleen (Mark) Williams, and the late Timothy Leahy; proud grandfather of Jack Williams; loving brother of the late Harold (late Alberta) Leahy, Theresa (late Michael) Gadus, and Marion (late Raymond) Zeiler; dear brother-in-law of Genevieve (late Bill) Rassel, Dorothy (late John) Rupcich, Lois (late Eugene) Marciniak, Carol (late Tom) Bender, the late Joe Granich, Marie (late Steve) Drozda, and Florence (late Matt) Waclawik; kind uncle to many nieces and nephews. Retired millwright with Carpenters Local Union No. 1693, and Falstaff with 19 years of dedicated service. Known fondly as "St. Jack of Ingleside" to his many neighbors and friends. Visitation Sunday, 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Monday, 9:15 a.m. from Thornridge Funeral Home (Janusz Family Funeral Service), 15801 S. Cottage Grove Ave., four blocks North of 162nd St. (Rte. 6) Dolton/South Holland to St Jude the Apostle Church Mass 10:00 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
