Not sure what to say?

Even though my boys are all grown and in their thirties! They can still hear their great uncle John asking them, who wants guacamole pancakes? And never decline because that would mean one thing... the Claw! His one and only wrestling move. Which I don´t believe he learned on the Cathedral wrestling squad. You´re already missed! Fair winds and following seas uncle John! Brian, Stephanie and the boys

Dear Ellen and family, My sincere condolences. John was a great friend and a true Suffolk Law School "Beaver". He was a good man and faced his illness with grace and courage. We fellow members of the Class of 76 will miss his wry humor and great friendship. May he rest in peace.

John Liebel was very good to the Paige Family....a relationship that began in friendship with mutual friends, the Sullivan´s. As time went on, we were blessed with John´s professional legal skills and good counsel. John was always warm and engaging. Rest in Peace John and thank you. God is blessing you for your goodness. Richie and Annie Paige

John was a diehard Yankees and NY Football Giants fan. He loved to play golf and "roundball." He had an excellent sense of humor. He handled "the bad cards he was dealt" the last 10 years of his life with courage, dignity and grace. We will forever cherish all of the great social gatherings on Millbrook Drive/Circle. He was a good man who will be missed by all who had the pleasure of his company...

A great lawyer A better man And a best friend Somewhere he is kibitzing with my father. They have a lot of catching up to do.

My sincere condolences to the entire Liebel family. I was fortunate to meet the great Barrister being close to the Four. John always greeted me with professionalism as I was a few years older but that facade quickly faded as our humor always seemed to erupt into a quip or two. John always led his life as a strong man of his faith to be sure in caring for the mankind he helped throughout their trials and tribulations. We all now know we will certainly have another angel above watching over us...

What a kind man! The embodiment of goodness. He embraced my daughter when she was the new kid at city hall. He affirmed and inspired in her a serious work ethic sprinkled with levity. Always thoughtful and helpful. Rest in peace.

I was blessed to have met John 24 years ago through work. His obit was a beautiful eulogy that captured who he was and how he lived. Beyond prayers that John see the light of God's face (the Gaelic saying at the end perfectly seeks to put his soul in God's hands) my thoughts and prayers are with the family, Above all, it just needs to be repeated, what a wonderful, wonderful, and good man John was. I will miss him dearly. Even now, I am replaying some of the many heartfelt conversation the...

We had the blessing of living next to John for almost 30 years. He was a joy to our family and always showed humor and friendship. When my granddaughter would get off the school bus, Mr.John, as she called him would always have her laughing with his joking banter. John was a gift to all who knew him and will be greatly missed by all of us, Rest in Eternal Paradise John, Joanne & Jim
