John William Liedel

For the rest of my life, I will be grateful to John (and Jeff Sosne) for his work with our two sons, who still remember him fondly. It's not exaggeration when I say that John gave us back our kids. He was the most patient, understanding, empathetic person and that's exactly what was needed. He was the best listener, and could "hear" things that weren't actually being said. I remember once sitting in the waiting room and noticing immediately that he was trying hard to disguise Parkinson's...

John was one of the best human beings, dedicating his life to the health of children. It was an honor to work for him. And he kept me laughing. I'll miss you, Johnny.

John was so thoughtful when he checked our daughter who has ADHD. He was gentle and kind and even after many long years would still ask how our daughter was doing. He is missed.

So very sad to hear about John, a wonderful colleague and friend. Our family's condolences go out to Mary and family.
I want to share a fond memory I have of John, that shows how grounded he was, and his wonderful sense of humor, in the midst of the gravity of our medical training.
