Not sure what to say?

Love and miss you always Dad! You took time to know each of your kids and learned our passions and helped nurture them in us! Always kind and willing to help anyone in need. Loved your career teaching and helping your students find their passions in business. Loved hearing your stories of wrestling a knife from a student and "decking him" so he never made trouble at school again, getting Pittsburgh's best band to play at the high school prom, outwitting the honeymoon pranksters, and...

Blessings to the whole family Glad I got to make him happy a couple of times by cutting his hair! He is now healthy and looking upon us Ridgeview meetings will never be the same ! God bless

Edna and family - So very sorry to learn that John has passed away. He fought the good fight, and now may rest in peace. Lots of Ridgeview memories so that he will not be forgotten.

He was a great backyard neighbor in Haines Acres. A wonderful storyteller!

Thanks for the Ridgeview memories

“Johnnie Lightning” was what we affectionately called him in our house. Always ready and willing to him anyone in need. He was a friend and neighbor for many years to our family. Having made his mark on earth may he experience peace in the next life as he joins his family and friends once again.
To the Lightner family, may you know that our prayers are with you at this difficult time. It was an honor to have known him.

John was a great brother-in-law.
He raised a great family, along with my sister, Edna. He was super friendly to everybody, and will really be missed by all.

Dear Edna and family, we are reaching out across the miles to share our condolences with you on the loss of dear John. You know how much he is loved. Take care of yourselves until we meet again. Love, Livvy and Bob
