John was more like a brother than a friend-he was both. I think of him a lot usually with Patty. Love to both always. John was one of the most thoughtful people I have ever met.

Very sorry to hear of the passing of John, I worked for John for several years in the mid 90's. He was a great man and I am grateful for the opportunities he created in my life.

It was a rather ground-breaking sort of co-operation between Protestant and Roman Catholic traditions, thanks to Pope John XX111 (as I recall).
John was a vital, engaging and vital Christian...

We met at University of Iowa.I learned to be a better human being from John. We shared laughter, peace, protest, academic pursuits, philosophy, arguments, trust, friends, music, astonishments, countless late night talks, weddings, births and many adventures. John was the best of the best. John was my brother. He and Patty were family and will always be. If I could create a Mount Rushmore I would have the faces of John Lint, Abraham Lincoln, Albert Einstein and Leonardo da Vinci. I am sure...
