John was a great life long friend. Glen Avis

I'm so very sorry to read of John's death, Susie. I remember sitting across the aisle from you two many Sundays at Fountain Street Church. I enjoyed getting to know you and chatting with you. You are both kind, interesting and respectable human beings and I feel fortunate to have known you both and shared the tiniest slice of Life with you!

To John's family, It was a great experience to know John in high school, college, and the many years he served our community. His contributions helped change all of our lives for the better. He got things done and was always willing to help. There were times when he was of help to me and my family. I will always remember his friendship. With deepest sympathy to Susan and his family at this difficult time, Jack

Susie: I would run into from time to time while John was at Clark Retirement. Blessings to you for visiting and caring for John during his illness. Occassionally, I would run into him, as well, and would stop and have a brief conversation with him. May you be comforted in all of the amazing stories that created standing by his side. Take care of yourself. It's your turn now.

In time your grief will pass; The memories are yours to keep. Forever.

Sandee and I send our condolences to the entire Logie family. John was a true "Gentleman of the Bar", always civil to deal with, always courteous and always willing to share his wisdom and experience with the younger lawyers in his cohort. He will be missed by his colleagues and peers.

We send our deepest sympathy to the family and to Susan. Memories of fund raisers at the Cherry Castle will always be with us. John knew how to be a friend to all because he gave the same level of respect to everyone. For this quality we called him our friend. You have earned your place with the Father Almighty. I am sorry for your loss. It is our loss also to lose someone so dedicated and loyal to this city. When I requested he recognize our 9-1-1 Operators for Telecommunicators Week he issued a proclamation which hangs in my den. We walked with host of citizens to open the newly-rebuilt S-curve. He worked tirelessly to "be available" and approachable to the citizens of Grand Rapids as it's mayor. I will always remember his example. May God give him a comfortable rest.
