Not sure what to say?

Dear Lyons Family, My mom, Carol Dooley of Adams Street just found out about John's passing and she wanted me to let you all know that she thought he was a wonderful principal and friend. She worked for him for several years in the Dedham School system. She is 93 now and can't get around at all but was so upset that she did not know. She always spoke very highly about your Dad and I know he had a lot to do with her getting a job in the Public School System. With our Deepest...

I had Mr. Lyons for 6 th grade at Greenlodge School. Fond memories of that year. He knew my Dad, ? from post office. Many years ago, as I was passing through Oakdale Square early in the morning, on my way to work, I spotted him in the spa and ran in and spoke with him briefly. Great man. Many contributions to educating children, community & beyond. Sorry for your loss. LeAnn ( McComb) Tibets

I am so sorry for your loss. He was one of my favorite teachers at Oakdale! After I moved on to the middle and high school, I used to love seeing him at the Oakdale coffee shop! At DHS I worked in the summer program and had the pleasure of working at Capen when his grandson attended. It sounds like he lived a great life. Rest in the sweetest peace to a great man!

May your cherished memories comfort you in your loss. With our deepest sympathy.

John and Ann Lyons were two of the finest people that I was blessed to have met during my long tenure at Stop and Shop. I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that you are in my prayers. May God rest John and Ann Lyons, and may he comfort all of you. Love always, Tom Kelly

Mr. and Mrs. Lyons, as I knew them when I was very young, through my mother's friendship with Mrs. Lyons, were lovely people and I remember them warmly to this day.

As a young teen I remember Skip meeting with his friends and discussing the local community activities at the Oakdale Spa ( my Parents store. He was always a kind and thoughtful person. I had the privilege of meeting Suzie at the Dentist recently and enjoyed talking about the memories Skip and his friends reminded me of. My condolences and prayers to the entire family. Thank you for your service to our nation. May you rest in peace.
