Read MoreMr. Lyons class was always fun and dramatic. He always displayed passion when teaching a group or one on one conversations. He will be missed because losing men like him from the 1980s at CM is like losing another father figure. The life lessons he taught us about being present, listening and being disciplined along with a love of history are lessons that run deep.

John, or "Jake" as we Mission Hillers knew him, was an outstanding coach and teacher. He always wanted to bring out the best in students whether on the athletic field or in the classroom. Jake was truly a class act and will be missed in this complicated world of ours.
