Hansen Funeral Home - Davison Obituary

John M. (Jack) VanTine, died Sunday February 18, 2018 at his home. Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday February 21, 2018 at Hansen Funeral Home Downtown Davison, Rev. Sarah LaRose –Nettell officiating. Family will receive visitors from 12 noon until time of services at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions in Jack’s memory to Goodrich United Methodist Church. Jack was born in Goodrich Michigan on November 28, 1939 the son of the late Louis M. (Johnny) VanTine and Frances (Gillespie) VanTine. Answering the call of his country Jack served in the US Air Force. He was a graduate of Goodrich High School, and attended Flint Junior College. Jack was an avid golfer and enjoyed reading. He was joined in marriage to Constance Smith on October 28, 1987, and had been employed in sales by Colson Caster for thirty years.


He is survived by his wife Connie, daughters: Kimberly Cummings, Jill VanTine, and Jodi Costello. He also leaves grandchildren: Cameron (Sarah) Cummings, Alex (fiancée Melissa) Cummings, Ben, Lea, and Jeana Costello, Jason and Justin Smith, several great grandchildren, and sister Christine (George) Jones. Mike and I are so sad about Jacks passing. What my mom, Sally said is so true. Jack was fun to be around and always made us laugh and smile and always had good conversation and fun playing cards! He will be missed.
