Not sure what to say?

I think so fondly of Dr MacDougall. He performed surgery on me as a little girl for a funnel chest. I remember his kind and gentle demeanor. I was never scared.

Has a celebration of his life service been planned or occurred yet during the pandemic?

Peace,

I will always remember Dr Macdougall on the first of May and the poem he recited to us in surgery. He was an exceptional surgeon and one of my favorites to work with. BOBBI Perkins Richey. RIP

I had the privilege of working with John in my participation in leadership @ ISMA. John was a caring & insightful leader who was a terrific mentor to those of us new to ISMA Leadership. But is wasn't just John, Barb & he were a fantastic couple, always fun & encouraging! I certainly enjoyed some rounds of golf with John!! The positive memories that he created will allow him to "live on" for many, many years...

Dr MacDougall was one of the nicest Surgeons I have ever met. He always made me feel welcome and had kind words for all he came in contact. He gave wonderful directions and was particularly adept at mentoring younger Physicians. He will be sorely missed.

A wonderful friend , doctor and family man. He will be missed.

Barbara, Al and I send our thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Our memories of John are far too numerous to list here. His friendship, and yours, have been a real blessing.

Barbara,
My association and professional work with John were of the utmost benefit and value to me. He set examples of ethics and standards for all who knew and worked with him. Phyllis and I extend to you our deepest sympathy and understanding.

I spent Thanksgiving 1982 with John and his family. I was meeting my relatives, and growing up in California I didn't really know this part of the family. I was a graduate student in Chicago and took the bus to Indianapolis, I got picked up and had a whirlwind of visits. I got to meet several aunts - sisters to my grandfather & his father Duncan. I will always remember John's hospitality!

What an amazing, wise and kind man. He lived a full, fun life; and generously shared his zest for life with everyone who crossed his path.
