Not sure what to say?

John, it's hard to believe that it has been eleven years since you left us so suddenly. Just this past Tuesday our breakfast club was discussing the disposition of our cremains. The club got quite a chuckle when I related Patty's very appropriate choice of your cocktail shaker from which we shared many a great martini to convey your ashes to Smith Mountain Lake. RIP old friend, your memory will never fade.

John was one of my very best friends and I miss him so much.

John and Patty had a home on Smith Mountain Lake, very close to mine. I always looked forward to visiting with them.

Soon after their arrival John would call asking if I needed any help fixing things, and I usually did. Only a very good friend would interrupt their vacation by offering to help someone....but that's how John was.

John and Patty were of great emotional help after I had lost my wife....

I reported to John prior to my retirement from PECO..He was one of the finest people I've ever known. A true gentleman. Peg and I pray that God will ease the pain of the family's grief; and grant my brother eternal peace.

John Madara was my boss twice in my PECO career. He was our VP when I worked for NQA at Peach Bottom Nuclear Station. I then transferred to Conowingo Dam and was elated when they announced John was our new dept. head. I admired him and had the greatest respect for him and his honesty with the employees. It was an honor to work for John. My sincere sympathy to his wife and family.

One of my earliest memories of Uncle John was from visiting Grandma and Grandpa at their old house in Lansdowne when I was only about ten years old. Uncle John came over in the afternoon and took me out for a ride in his MG. I can still remember the car's cute little chrome gear shift, the smell of the leather seats and Uncle John's Old Spice aftershave as we roared around the neighbourhood at full throttle with the top down. Recently I had been thinking about sending him a note about my...

The Coastal Living staff, as well as your other Birmingham friends, are thinking of you during this very difficult time.

Steph, I'm thinking about you and your family.

Patty, our sincerest condolences to you and your family. John was a huge inspiration to me and convinced me to relaunch my business which was the best decision in my life. I will miss the good times we spent together at the golf course. He will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Patty. We are here if you or your family needs anything at all. With deepest sympathy, your Chester Springs neighbors Mike and Kathy Himsworth
